1996 Chevrolet Beretta

I have a 1996 chevy Beretta 3.1 the engine overheated, took the heads off and the block is crack, a friend has a 2000 buick century 3.1 which has rear end so vehicle is damage in the back but the motor still run pretty good.

If the buick is a rear wheel drive then you can't use it as the starter is on the wrong side. If the century is a fwd then it will bolt right in.

Of course you'll hve to transfer your stuff like alternator brackets, etc and maybe some sensors as they may have different hookups.

No, I don't believe this would work. They are actually different engines. The Beretta has a 3100 Vin "M" and the Buick has a 3.1 Vin "J". They have different operating systems.
