Hi, I have a 96 BMW 328is coupe. Over a year ago the AC/Heater stopped working. Actually the AC was on at the time, then made a "gasp" type sound, and that was it. It turns on, but nothing comes out. I work at Toyota and the guy here said the fan was ok, but wasnt sure what the problem was.
Thanks for your help

The fan is controlled by a potted device called a final stage. 64116929540 . This is the part number. Go to Realoem. Com and put in the # to see the unit and the price. It is installed in the drivers side footwell area.

Hi, Thank you for your help. Could the problem be the "Resister"? Which is located under the dash on the passanger side. Thats what one of the mechanics told me it could be? Thats the problem, the mechanics here dont seem to know "exactly".

Thanks again
Lela

It is not on the passenger side on the E-36 body. Resistor or final stage depends on the level of equipment and is VIN specific.
