1995 Ford Maverick Repair Question

Slave cylinder or main cylinder

I have a 1995 ford maverick. when i put the clutch pedal down to go into gear, it doesnt return to normal position and it wont go into gear. please help

Check and test the clutch master cylinder,clutch slave and clutch pedal free play/pedal height adjustment

Maybe either but most likely master. Bleed system that will tell if pressure is coming from master

When the foot pedal is pressed the slave cylinder piston comes out but seems to struggle taking the pin back in

Pressure plate diaphram pushes back the slave so suspect pressure plate failure

Pin on end of slave cylinder looks like its going to fall out. There seems to be no suction to pull pin back off plate when pedal is released. The plate is moving as it should

When the ignition is on I can select any gear as soon as engine is running then I'm unable to select gears. When I put foot on clutch pedal when enginr is running there is a grinding noise.

Going to have to pull trans and inspect /replace clutch assembly
