1995 Chevrolet Truck runs rough

I have a 1995 1500 chevy truck with a 305 engine. It was running great.I went to Lowes and shopped for about half an hour and when I got back in the truck it ran real rough and black smoking. It idled rough and missing, black smoking and would die if you tried to give it gas.I had to have it towed home and have another 1992 that everything looks the same on it.I changed almost everything from the 92 that was running great to the 95 and nothing helped.I put all the parts from the 95 back on the 92 and it ran great.

Has the check engine light come on? Have you checked the coolant temp sensor? Have you checked fuel pump pressure to make sure the regulator is working properly?

No check engine light on. Checked fuel pump pressure, its ok. Have not checked coolant temp sensor. Don't know how to check it.

Check to make sure wiring to it is in good shape. Make sure that connections are tight and not corroded.
