Truck runs great for a few minutes, then the oil gauge starts to wildly swing from 0 to normal (oil level is fine) and the truck starts to run poorly. I have insatlled a new battery, and new alternator, still having this problem. What could it be?

Try checking the oil pressure with a test gauge, unscrew the oil sending switch, screw in the gauge, take readings. If pressure is OK, replace the sender, if not OK oil pump, or engine bearings need replacment. GM has a saftey engine kill, or fuel shut off wired to the oil pressure circuit, if low pressure is detected, it will shut off fuel supply.
