Transmission fluid is leaking out at about a qt a day. When we checked for a leak we couldn't find one, however, when we checked the oil there was transmission fluid in the oil. Thinking that someone put transmission fluid in with the oil, we did a oil change. We cleaned underneath to check again for a leak only to find nothing. We then checked the oil and found it over filled. Is it possible to have transmission fluid leak into the engine? I've never heard of such a thing. Any ideas?

No there is no connection between engine oil and automatic transmission oil.
The only connection between the two oils is the coolant.
The engine has coolant circulating through it and the transmission has hoses two hoses that run from the transmission to the radiator and back to cool the transmission fluid.

Check the coolant color and if it is full by removing the radiator cap (do this when the engine is cool as it is pressurized and would cause coolant to spray out and cause burns).
Is the coolant green in color? Or brown?
