Put a 2002 motor in my 94 SC1 Saturn

So I put the new motor in and everything except the crankcase positioning sensor and the fan temp relay sensor switched over I tryed to run the car on the old sensor but the timeing is differnt due to longer connecting rods in the newer motor. So when I went to use the newer sensor that the 2002 motor is supposed to use the car lost spark. I think it is due to the ecu or eprom doesn't have the code in it to recognize the newer sensor. My question is can I get a progamible ecu and get it to reqcognize the new crankshaft positioning sensor and still run everything else the same.

No you can't the computers on all those car's are flash prom's meaning they use a reprogramable prom that isn't removable like some of the other GM computer's. Iam trying to think of a way to make it work but I don't even think if you changed the engine harness and computer to the 2002 one it would even work. Because in 2000-2002 the saturn s model started using a pass lock system and a body control module that talked to the ecm. So you would run into of the issue of the computer not finding that pass lock data and disable the fuel injector pulse. Let me think a little more of a way you might be able to make it work.

Correct me if i'm wrong but could u take out the old cps code in the eprom and just put the new code in.I have found some ecu upgrades that will work from 93-2002.

The saturn proms do not just unplug like you are thinking a lot of the gm car's did though. Saturn computer's are different when you put in a brand new computer it has to be programed not just change the prom. The 1994 computer compared to the 2002 one is totally different also. All the computer upgrades I have seen like the jet one is a whole new computer board you change in your computer.I have also seen other companies that you send them your computer and they program your old computer with new calibration file's.
