Why do my windshield wipers go on and off on their own? This happens usually when it is colder outside, never in the summer.

It could be a bad logic board for the wiper motor that is the most common reason. How long do they come on for on there own? Also do you have a multimeter?

Sometimes they only come on for a few wipes but lately they have been coming on for 30 minutes or more. Yesterday I got sick of the sound and pulled the fuse. I don't have a multimeter? Why would it only be when it is cold?

Electronics react differently when they get hot or cold especaily when there starting to go bad. Some act up when hot some when cold.I just had a car that the wiper's during the summer would come on for a few swipe's on it's own then turn off every once in a while. When we had this cold snap it became more and more often and eventually wouldn't turn off. It was a bad wiper motor logic board that wiper motor had a built in board so I replaced the assembly now it work's like a champ. If you had multimeter I could give you a trouble tree to figure it out.I would hate to have you replace the board for nothing.
