I have a 1994 bravada that has been serviced and properly maintained since it was bought new. It runs great. Recently, when driving down the freeway for a few minutes at about 65 mph, the service engine light comes on. It extinguishes as I exit and start to slow down. I have checked all of the fluid levels and they are fine. Are there any common problems that might cause this?

Hello,

The service engine light comes on when the on-board diagnostics detect a fault within any of the computer-controlled components. It could be an engine sensor; it can also be emission related. It could be as simple as a bad gas cap.

Only way to know what triggered the light is to have it scanned when the light is illuminated.

I have attached the diagnostic system check procedure below.

Please let me know of any questions.
Thank you.
