On a 94 Mercury Tracer. What is the ignition control module? Is it computer? Or a chip? Or is it the coil?

I've replaced the ignition coil but still no start, now looking things up somethings coming up about the ignition control module, and i'm not sure what that is.

Try the above link to get an idea what is missing.

Is your engine with or without distributor?

ICM is an electronic part for control the sparks. The ignition coil it the part for supplying the ignition sparks.
