Does it matter if it's warm or cold? Does higher cold idle work ok?

Warmer idle is somewhat better. It is a 3.0 6 cyl. Mazda B3000.

I change the TPI, the idle control sensor, the coil, etc. Not only does the idle have a problem (i can keep it running by reving it up some as it warms and as I place it into gear to take off) but thr rpm's are high as I am in the last gear on the hiway.
