1994 Honda Accord Transmission D4 Light Begins Flash About 10 Min Into

my 1994 honda accord has a problem with the transmission where the D4 light begins to flash about 10 min into driving. this wouldn't be so bad except that i have to manually change gears and even then it will only shift into 2nd and 4th. could it be the TCU? or the transmission itself?
