1994 ford ranger speedometer problem?

Hi I have a 1994 Ford ranger with a 4.0 and a automatic transmission my question is about the speedometer it bounces around 60 what causing this I look under the hood to see if there where a cable I don't see one all I see is three the first one is kickdown cable and the second one is a throttle cable and third one is a hood cable and that all I see on the firewall my truck was made in 10/94 please help I read online about the vehicle speed sensor I just wondering is this truck have one

it is on the tail shaft of the transmission. it is a sensor that sends a signal to the ecm and then to the dash. it should be verifed before replacing it but is not an expensive part to try.

Liter engine and is it 2wd or 4wd??
