What could be the cause of my car stalling/not starting, when it is hot?

It could be many things. What you need to do is this. When the engine doesn't start, you need to check to see if there is spark and fuel getting to the engine. Since the vehicle does run at times, that tells me the engine is fine. Thus, you are losing spark or fuel which will shut it off. Go to our homepage under the do it yourself section. Look up checking fuel pump pressure and checking for spark (ignition). When the engine dies and won't start, you need to check for both. The fuel pressure test requires a fuel pressure gauge. Most parts stores will lend one to you. There are both directions and a video showing you how to check fuel pressure. As far as checking for spark, there are clear directions. Make sure that when you check for spark that the spark is a good hot blue spark. If it is white or orange, it is weak.
