My number 2 cylinder on my 94 chevy is fouling plugs out with oil and causing a horrible misfire at cold idle. The motor has 180000 miles on it but this has been a problem since the 165000 mile mark. I just bought the truck and am wondering what I can do to fixx this problem it is a throttle body injected 350. Thanks for your help

Go with hotter heat range plug in that cylinder or an oil fouler

You either have a worn valve guide or excessively worn piston rings, maybe both. You'll have to do a compression check to isolate which. And unfortunately, you'll need either a cylinder rebuild or engine overhaul.

With so many miles on motor that's so cheap, I'd suggest you just buy another motor.

What is an oil fouler? Im not familiar with that terminology. And can I use a hotter heat range in just that one cylinder or do I gotta replace all 8?

I understand what the other tech is saying, but I personally don't like to use bandaid approaches. Using a hotter heat range or "Oil Fouler" for that one cylinder may work for awhile, but then you'll still have to replace that plug more frequently than the others, and you'll have occasional misfires in that cylinder, as well as possible damage.

On a motor with so many miles (and a truck), you'll have to address the source of the problem, or get another engine sooner than later.
