Jeep YJ Brakes Problem

Jeep shut off when brakes were applied got a jump start and it started right up let run for a bit hit brakes and it died

Have the charging system tested. You can do preliminary tests with a digital voltmeter. With the engine off, the battery voltage should be near 12.6 volts if it's fully charged. With the engine running, the voltage must be between 13.75 and 14.75 volts.
