I am trying to find out what a part is called on the rear suspension of my car that got bent

Are we supposed to guess which of the dozens of parts you're referring to? Okay, my vote is for the "lateral link". We laughed the first time we saw those cheap rolled-up pieces of sheet metal that are expected to hold the rear wheels in alignment. It takes very little to bend them.
