starting problems 93 tempo 2.3l

When starting car. Sometimes the fuel pump comes on and sometimes not. Also sometimes the starter turns motor over and sometimes not.

some days i feel like a nut, some days i dont? could be ignition switch related.(failing switch)or relay problem. when the starter motor does not turn over engine is it working at all? check the little wire on the starter solenoid on inner fender drivers side.could be a loose bad connection?
