I have a 1993 doodge dakota truck with a 3.9L engine
was driving down the highway one day and engine just cut out. I have checked the fuel pump pressure 30 psi, ohmed out the coil primary and secondary both are right where they should be 1 ohm and 13,800 ohms. When I checked the fault code it was a 36 indicating (air switching solenoid circuit) my truck has a MPI ignition system didn't think that had an assc, I took the codes from a Haynes manual, need help !If it has some type of air sensor where is it?

Will the vehicle start and run? How long since a tune-up? I looked at 2 different databases, no code 36 listed for your vehicle. My fuel pressure spec showed 39 psi for this vehicle. With fuel injection, there has to be an rpm signal or you may loose fuel and spark both? Let us know.

If it cranks good, but won't start, have a helper crank it, while you check for spark at the plugs. You can take a spark plug wire loose, use a known good spark plug or spark tester in the boot, ground/touch metal part of tester to metal part of engine, engine cranking, watch for spark. If you have spark everywhere, check for injector pulse, use a noid lite.
