Chevrolet Truck Emissions Problem
I am putting a new gas tank on my truck when I took the old one off I found that one of the of four of the lines from the sending unit was not and had not been hooked up. infact it was toatly gone at the front of the truck. the truck ran fine but the tank leaked. it is the smallest of the four, and does not thread on the hose clamps on. my question is what is that line for, and can I get by without it?

It is most likely an emissions line for the EVAP system. It is not a good idea to go without it as contaminants will get sucked into the fuel system and cause a lot of problems. Replace the line as soon as you can.
