1992 Pontiac Grand Prix Sevice Engine Light

When I either slow down or stop from 50+ mph my service engine light comes on. I have never heard of this happening and I have asked several people who say they haven't heard of this either

The place to start is by reading and recording the diagnostic fault code. The Engine Computer detected a problem, set the fault code, and turned the Check Engine light on to tell you. That can happen under any of a variety of conditions. Coasting is just one of those conditions.
