Hey I have a Nissan terrano 1992 with auto hubs, one day while I was driving I was driving at around 70kmph and my friend thought it would be funny to slam it into 4h! When he did it a grinding noise immediately occurred and we had to pull over and switch in and out of 4h and then we drive off, 100 meters later happens again and so on maybe 3 more times after that it was fine for a whole day!
Now everytime I drive the car, a noise in the front right half of the car (sounds like the hub or wheel)
Occurs and we have to pull over and switch in and out, the noise is a loud grinding noise and it's quite violent and you can feel it through the car. What do you think the problem could be?

You can have your friend pay for the new hubs on axles and other damage that he did when he slammed it into 4wd just for the heck of it. To release them you have to put in 2wd and go in reverse to unlock them. That is more than likely the cause of the grinding noise you hear. More than likely there are things broken inside or on axle
