Clean out the idle air control valve and throttle plate and look for a vacuum leak-start here before you do anything else-Good Luck

The above is true. The idle may not truly be adjustable and if it is fuel injected changing the angle of the throttle body plate at idle will mess up the thottle position sensor calibration. If it is not idling up to speed you have a clog or vacuum leak.
