Starter

I am trying to install a starter in a 1992 chevy 4.3L chevy s-10. It is a royal pain in the behind. I had to take apart the old starter to get it out. I tried all angles to get the old one out and finally just tore the old one apart. Now I am trying to put the new one and do not want to take it apart to get it in. Any suggestions. There is not a whole lot of room to get it in and I can't find the angle to get it in. Thanks.

Remove passenger side front wheel for access to starter wires; loosen bolts for flywheel cover and remove also the 4 U joint bolts at front differential, jiggle starter out between flywheel cover and frame from underneath.
