Stalling when cold

Hi I have 1991 gmc sierra
305 v8 stalls when it`s cold
when you turn on head lights
when it`s cold itwill stall
when the truck is warmed up
every thing works fine

Is it cold enough for block heater? How long since a tune-up? Any applicable mil codes. If idle issue, clean the throttle-body and check iac. The coolant temp sensor can cause temp related issues.
