Bad ignition

My 1991 ford van will not turn over when you try to start it wth the ignition switch, when you turn the key to start it will not spring back, the van will turn over when you cross the silenoid, does this mean I have a bad ignition switch if so what do I need to do?

Is it the switch or the lock cylinder

Try the ignition cylinder lock 1st and then the switch either way you have to go in and investigate
