This question applies to a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Ciera, V6.

I realize that I have posted here a few times, but the problems I've been having have not gone away no matter what I have tried.

The most recent development is that when I suddenly rev my car in park, the car acts like its gonna die, then quickly revs up to normal rpms.

Also when revving to high RPMS in park, distinct Missing can be heard from the engine.

Some other symptoms that may or may not be related are:

- Surging on idle
- Wanting to stall when coming to a stop. Not when brake is applied, but when coming to a complete stop, the car will sputter then recover.
-At night with headlights on, right at 65 MPH the car will misfire heavily, and the headlights will flicker.

Please help, this problem has me completely stumped.

To Caradiodoc, if you read this, I have tried the alternator fix you suggested and the car has no change, other than some power loss.

The ac voltage from the alt was a common issue. With that out of the way, you need to check the mass air flow sensor as it was a bad part from the beginning.
Fuel pressure needs to be checked as well. Vacuum leaks can also cause this issue.
And lastly, the ecm could be a fault which was also common.
