1990-95 nissan pathfinder the gears are stuck it will not go down in reverse

Do you mean the shift lever is stuck in PARK?

If yes, check the brake lights to see if they are working.

The shift interlock system is preventing the shift lever from being moved out of park.

It could be the control unit or interlock solenoid. Is this a column or floor shift?
