can the CV/universal joints cause the vehicle to vibrate, or unusual driving condition. when accelerating?

yes, to testfor this try turning your steering wheel very slightly when going down the road one way or another. when the /if the vibration is gone then it is normally the side you turn to. also check for broken /torn boots on the axle. It can also be wheel bearings causing this.
