i have a 99 mazda 626 es 2.0 4 cyl automatic. when im driving the rpms jump, mainly when the car is warmed up. i brought the car to aamco and they checked it and said nothing wrong, they hooked it up to scanner and the head guy of the shop test drove it, and a tech, and they said its shifting fine and nothing found when they scanned it. what else can it be? Thanks, Kerry

so are you saying they did not duplicate the problem? and when you say rpms jump does the sound of the motor jump too or just rpm gauge?

they took the car on the highway at speeds of 40+ and it happens around 30 mph usually and it was happening on the way there. yes you can hear the motor jump. than it hesitates to shift.

sounds like your pressure is low. could be a downshift control adjustment. or internal problem.
