1989 ford probe rough engine

I have a 1989 ford probe and the engine is running rough. Could this be and airflow problem? air and fuel mixture?

Yes. It sound as if there is an issue with the mixture. Have you tried or checked your EGR valve. I had that same problem this past week and changed the EGR valve now she is running well.Once you have removed the old valve look inside to see if there is a blockage, then there you go that maybe your issues.
