Any easy way to get the shift lever off the steering column?

Their is a pin that goes through the shift bowl use a punch to get it out. Then the lever can be removed.

Sorry wrong shirt lever, the one in the engine compartment?

Youll need to buy new shift linkage bushings. When u pry them out there done. Just use adjustable pliers to pry it out and reinstall the linkage the same way.
