Have you checked the catalytic converter? Have you checked engine compression to see if there is a weak cylinder (possible burnt intake valve)?

Well I changed this to duals, the one cat is the one from when it was single exhaust the other is new. Both seem ok ya now flow wise the compression i'll ck but while it backfires once in awhile the hesitation is there only if I let off the gas completely then go back on with in a few minutes wait longer still and it;s not there makin me nuts.I have tried to watch this on scanners while driving or try to get it to do it in shop an no?

The backfire through the intake has me confused a bit. Usually, that is the result of a timing issue or a burnt valve. However, either one of those problems would be present all the time.
