How do you install a speedometer cable in the instrument cluster on a 1988 Honda Accord? My boyfriend took the old one out and didn't remember how it went back, but was able to install the other end of the cable fine. A diagram would be very helpful!

Sorry there are no diagrams available.

Route the speedometer from outside but do not plug in first. Ensure the cable is installed is as straight a position as possible with minimal sharp turns. Plug in cable to neter cluster and gently pull the cable from oustde to remove any excessive slack in the cable.

Thanks for your fast response! The problem is that he can't find exactly where the cable plugs in. He even took it to a mechanic that couldn't tell him anything. Do you have any specific information on where exactly the cable plugs in to?

The cable is plugged into rear of meter cluster, there should be a protrusion for the cable. The other end is plugged into the transaxle, near the firewall, under the manifold.
