I have an 1988 ford f250 460. Truck ran great then just would not start. I have replaced the solenoid, and the ignition switch, several fusable links. still cannot get the engine to turn over. However I can arc the solenoid and start it that way. battery is fine... not sure where to go from here. Any suggestions would be helpful!!!!! Thank you!

Neutral safety switch or ignition switch?

Insure "S" on the solenoid is connected and is the correct wire.

Also are your key positions correct (maybe the ignition switch slid in its adjustment holes?

I have some pics and explanations on the ignition switch if you want me to post 'em

Still Here!

Pics would be great! thank you! We have replaced the ignition switch. Key positions are correct. truck will not start in neutral and I hear thats how you can tell if it is the neutral safety switch???? Wondering if it could be the starter too? Not positive how to test that either?? Thank you again for your time! :)

If it were the starter??? Why can you jump the solenoid and make it start???....Duh??? lol!

Sure you installed it correct.......review my stuff!

Really look at how forward or rearward the switch is in respect to your key in "start" position.

If this don't work, I'll see if I can find a diagram of the neutral safety....the reference I get 'em from, sometime will not go that far back.

See what you got now!
