88 Chevy caprice crank,no-start.
Will start with starting fluid.Fuel pump was replaced.

your fuel pump is mechanical sometimes they put in incorrectly and the pump doesn't touch the rod. the rod pushs the lever onthe pump from the camshaft. Also the camshaft lobe can wear off causing the same problem. Take teh air cleaner off and push the throttle and see if fuel is going in the carb. if not and you have fuel pressure, then it's a carb overhaul.
