COIL?

SOMETIMES A COIL WILL ACT UP LIKE THAT

DOES THE CHECK ENGINE LIGHT WORK (KEY ON, BEFORE START). IS IT ON PERMANENTLY?

The check engine light functions as it should-on at start, off when started. I used it to read the codes and it functioned correct there two.

I try to check responses often but life and family slow me down so be patient and I will be back online to look for replies. Thank you.

The only code it read was a 12. The book says that means "No distributer reference pulses to the PCM (normal)"

When the car first started having the problem , it felt like it just ran out of gas and I actually check my tank phsycally to make sure the gauge was working and I hadnt been syphoned overnite.

I have inspected the egr and it appears normal but, havent checked out the coils yet, will do so today...

Well the car is nickle and diming me to death with all the possible parts wrong with it so im taking it in to the shop next week to find out for sure whats shot. I will post the results so if the question comes up again with someone elses car we have some data.
