1986 Ford Sierra engine problem

Hi my Sierra has tappet noise. Is it normal? And my second problem is it uses a lot of water and produce white smoke from the exhaust. Is this a top gasket that's blown or could there be another reason for this. The white smoke is the worst when I rev the car or pull away from a stop or a robot. Thank you for your time

The Sierra is GMC, not a Ford so what are you driving?

We` would need an engine size also.

So if its not ford sierra why would it be under the ford category? And its a 3.0L V6

OK, they didn't even make a 3.0 V6 in 86. Please find out what you are driving and post it.
