83 Plymouth Reliant

I have been thinking of putting a new engine in my car and was wondering if it would be possible to put a 2.6 engine instead of a 2.2? My car has a load of miles on it and I want it to run better and replacing the engine would help. And how can you tell whast the submodel is?

Hi:
I recommend staying with the 2.2L. Yes, you could put the 2.6 in it, but the amount of work required isn't worth it. Everything needs changed, computer, mounts, trans, wiring harnesses... Plus, the 2.6 is harder to get parts for.
