why is my timing belt jammed at one point on my 1988 plymouth 2.5 motor? It will turn to one point then jam. The engine will crank over, but the distributor rotor does not. Are these related? Does the timing belt have anything to do with spark to the distributor? These are related?

The timing belt is jammed. What can it be jammed on. In? Stops distributor rotor from turning? These answers are so much appreciated. Thank you.
