Does an 82 chevy truck need a return line for the fuel system?

If it is fuel injected it will have a fuel return line and it must be intact.

Here is the deal, I have the motor out of an 86 chevy truck but the frame is an 82 model that means the tank is from an 82 model I just need to know if if needs a return line on it. I dont think it would hurt anything to go ahead and put one on it but I am no expert. Any ideas?
