I have a 1973 ford Ranchero 302, I can not get to car to start unless the firing order is 1/8th to the right of 1 so instead of 15426378 i have to do 54263751 and i can tell is skipping but not sure what to do to fix it
How did this happen?
Do you mean you switch wires on cap or loosened distributor and turned it?
Did you remove distributor and put it back in? you have to allow 1/8 retard when doing this as the shaft rotates 1/8 when inserting into block.

Then how do you know if t he removed wires were not also off by 1?
