1970 Mercedes Benz 190d Repair Question

Car dies when put gear on D
I have 1970 MB250. It works fine on idle but dies when put on D and hit the gas. Problem started after I took it to a mechanic to adjust the carbuerator and the timing. Any idea please of whyas goin on? Thanks!

I would say that he has messed up with the adjustments, the timing is fairly basic, but the carbys adjustments are fairly difficult and they must be synchronized, this is a job not many mechanics can do these days, you will need to find a older Benz mechanic to do this correctly.
