I'm not getting power to coil and distributor. I have a new Ammeter. Also ammeter only sends power to ignition switch " sometime" ! Could this be due to a bad voltage regulator?

What year is this vehicle a 48 or 61? Does it have a ballast resister on the inner fender or fire wall? What kind of vehicle is it? What engine is it? The 3.6 is new.

FOLLOW THE POSITIVE WIRE ON THE POSITIVE POST (+) ON THE COIL

IF YOU HAVE ONE, IT'LL BE ALONG THIS WIRE BETWEEN THE COIL AND IGNITION SWITCH

JUST FOR GIGGLES I CAN SHOW YOU HOW TO BYPASS THE IGNITION SWITCH (TEMPORARILY- JUST TO MAKE IT RUN SO YOU CAN MOVE IT)

I HAVE PICS IF YOU ARE INTERESTED

THIS IS NORMALLY A "GET BY" SORTA SET-UP AND IS SORTA EXTRA STUFF YOU MUST TAKE LOOSE AND PUT BACK ON WHEN YOU DRIVE, OR FINISH DRIVING

HOWEVER, I HAVE SEEN IT USED FOREVER FOR LAZY FOLKS WHO DON'T WANNA TRACK DOWN THE PROBLEM AND DO IT RIGHT

SORTA A SALVAGE YARD WAY TO FIRE ONE UP WHEN THE WIRING IS IN DISARRAY AND YOU JUST WANNA SEE IF THE ENGINE RUNS
