Steering problem
1991 Chevy Van V8 Two Wheel Drive Automatic 100.00 miles
In my steering knuckle, the threaded holes for the fixing screws of the brake caliper are completely ruined. There is a kit to restore these threads? unfortunately in Italy, the workshops that have these parts have only tools in centimeters for european car. Can you tell me where to find what I need? thanks |

Hello,
Not quite sure I understand...
Are you talking about the Caliper Mounting Hardware? If so you should be able to get it from your local parts store. Even if you need to repair the threads there is a oversize repair kit that should be available. Also can you take a pic of what you are actually speaking about and post it here if I am off target.
Also could you include what size van (G1500, G2500
etc. and the engine size in liters along with the vin#)

I am talking about of the threads inside the steering knucle ( see the picture). I imagine that there is an oversize kit for the repair, but in Italy is not available for this or posted here. to find someone who can tell me what it's called the kit and where to find it, so buy it and let me send. My van is a G20, 1991 5.7L - V8 vin "K". thanks
Riccardo

Hi Riccardo,
They are called Brake Caliper Housing Bolts and you should be able to get them at ant local auto parts store.
I will check tomorrow for a part number for the oversized kit for your vehicle. And post.
