Accidentally put my Sierra key in Civic ignition only realizing this mistake when the engine turned over but failed to start which made me look close. Dang! Wrong key then (GASP!) Key won't release.

I tried all the usual "fixes" and have removed the steering wheel housing. Can I remove the ignition and then reinstall?

Of course I'd check to see if the ignition still works with the original Honda key.

Hmm, sometimes you cannot get the key out and need to replace the ignition tumbler lock. Here are instructions and diagrams to help you do the job. Check out the diagrams (below). Please let us know what happens.
