Hello, my name is Rita and I was wondering if you can please let me know which "Power Steering Rack" that I will need for a 2005 XC90 Volvo.

I am trying to see if I need one with/without a vairable assist.

Look at the rack to see if you have an electrical connector on it. For the most part you will have have it. If you have an issue with the steering being hard, check the fuses on the left side of the dashboard. Open the drivers door and you will see the cover. Check the fuse for the power steering control unit. If it has blown replace the fuse. If it blows again I would suspect a shorted electric vacuum pump. Unplug the electrical connector and install fuse again. If it does not blow replace the vacum pump.
