2003 Volvo XC90 check stop lamp

I tried changing the bulb for the brake lights but the two side lamps would not come on I also checked the fuses that seem to be working how can ix this problem

Try swaping the relay in the rear electronic module. The only problem is that you may need to remove the rear right quarter panel out to get better access. The relay is RMI5. Swapp with any relay and check brake lights. If that works, replace the relay. Keep me posted.

I am sorry the module is behinde the rear left quarter panel. When I typed this earlier I do not know what I was thinking? Was trying to multi task? Hope I did not make you chase your tail looking for the unit? Let me know if the relay swapp works.
