The dealer has been reseting my computer and stated it could be a faulty tran. I have taken my car back into them and they are now having the foreman look at it. They call me today and said that they have called Volvo to come look at it. Prior to this they have just been reseting it. Only when I mention that the code TCM 0100 was the tran did they look further into it. They even suggest I buy a new Volvo.

DEFINITELY PRESS THE TRANSMISSION ISSUE. BECAUSE AFTER 2 YEARS, THE TRANSMISSION SHOULDNT BE FAILING. IF IN FACT THEY CONFIRM ITS A TRANSMISSION, YOU SHOULD TELL THEM YOU WANT IT COVERED UNDER WARRANTY, EVENTHOUGH IT MAY BE PAST IT. 2 YEARS IS NOTHING. TALK TO THE MANAGER OR EVEN ASK TO TALK TO VOLVO, WHOEVER IS IN A POSITION TO A MAKE A DECISION. BESIDES, THEY SHOULDNT BE TELLING YOU TO BUY A NEW CAR, THEY SHOULD BE TELLING YOU WHAT THEY ARE GOING TO DO TO FIX IT. RESETING THE CODES WAS JUST A WAY TO HAVE YOU GO AWAY, THAT CODE MEANS SOME SORT OF FAILURE IN THE TRANSMISSION, THEY SHOULD HAVE CONTACTED VOLVO THE FIRST TIME.

They have agreed to replace the transmission at no cost to me. However at first they wanted me to pay part of it. I agree reseting the codes was just a way of dismissing me. But in the end it came back to haunt them.
