Brakes problem
2000 Volvo V70 140, 00 miles

i can't seem to figure out why my brake lights won't work. All other lights work just fine, I just noticed this as someone almost hit me. The fuses aren't blown, the light bulbs aren't the issue. What do I need to look at?

Does the third brake light come on are not? Also have you inspected the bulbs and verified they were ok? While having someone step on the brake pedal, probe the brake light socket with a test light to see if it lights up. If it does, then you have faulty bulbs, if not then you could have a bad brake light switch. Disconnect the connector from the switch and probe the red wire and verify that you have power. If there is no power recheck all fuses. If there is power, jump pins #1 and #2 of the brake light switch connector ( red and yellow wires). If the lights come on then you have a faulty switch. If still you have no light operation check for an open circuit from pin #2 to the brake light socket.
